Qualifications and Experience:
- Active licensure as a Social Worker (LCSW, LICSW, or equivalent) in Minnesota
- Prior experience in school-based social work or pediatric populations preferred
- Strong skills in crisis intervention, counseling, and resource coordination
- Familiarity with IEP, 504 planning, and multi-disciplinary collaboration within schools
- Exceptional communication, rapport-building, and advocacy skills
- Ability to maintain detailed documentation and adhere to privacy regulations
- Adaptable, empathetic, and skilled in working with diverse students and families
What You’ll Do:
- Provide individual and group counseling for elementary students to address social, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff to develop supportive learning environments
- Contribute to the creation and management of IEP/504 plans and intervention strategies
- Connect students and families with community resources and external support services
- Respond to crisis situations, offering timely interventions and referrals as needed
- Document all interactions and keep thorough, confidential case notes
- Advocate for student well-being and help foster a nurturing, inclusive school culture
