School Social Worker in Canton, MI

Make a meaningful impact supporting students across K-12 classrooms as a School Social Worker in a full-time, onsite contract position. This rewarding role starts August 2026 and runs through early June 2027, providing vital services to a diverse student population.

We're looking for experienced social work professionals who are passionate about advocating for student wellbeing and supporting their academic and social growth in a school environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Social Work is required
• Hold a current SSW-310 Authorization for School Social Work OR a valid MDE School Social Worker Credential
• Previous experience in educational or K-12 settings strongly preferred
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrated ability to manage a full caseload and connect with students from various backgrounds
• Must be available to work onsite in a school setting for the entirety of the contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and group social work services to students in grades K-12
• Support students' emotional, social, and behavioral needs, working closely with teachers, parents, and school staff
• Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and help create positive, inclusive school climates
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and provide input for IEP and 504 planning when necessary
• Serve as a liaison with families and community agencies to connect students with additional resources and support
