Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work required
  • SSW-310 Authorization for School Social Work OR MDE School Social Worker Credential (current and active)
  • Experience working with school-aged children, ideally K-12 populations
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other educators, families, and community partners
  • Strong communication, case management, and organizational skills
  • Passion for supporting student growth and overcoming barriers to academic success
  • Must be able and willing to work onsite throughout the assignment

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and indirect social work services to K-12 students in accordance with IEP goals and district needs
  • Assess students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs and develop intervention plans
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to implement support strategies
  • Provide crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and counseling as needed
  • Engage with parents/guardians to coordinate community resources and supportive services
  • Document case files accurately while maintaining student confidentiality
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to a positive school climate
