Step into a dynamic opportunity supporting elementary students as a contracted school social worker. In this part-time position—ideal for those who thrive in purpose-driven settings—you’ll play a key role in helping young learners build the social, emotional, and behavioral skills they need to thrive.

You’ll collaborate with a dedicated team of educators, using your expertise to provide direct services as identified in students’ IEP and 504 plans. Your support will extend beyond special education, as you deliver Tier II and III interventions and general social-emotional supports for students across the school community.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Current Illinois PEL certification for School Social Work
  • Prior experience in school settings or working with elementary-aged children (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of IEP and 504 plan implementation
  • Skillful communication and ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and administration
  • Compassion and adaptability to meet diverse student needs
  • Problem-solving mindset and a commitment to evidence-based interventions

Your Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver required social work services in alignment with IEP and 504 objectives
  • Conduct behavioral and emotional support interventions for both general education and special education students
  • Maintain clear documentation and contribute to IEP meetings as appropriate
  • Provide consultation and resources to educators and families
  • Help foster a positive, inclusive school culture

Position Details:

  • Elementary Social Worker for the 2026/2027 school year
  • Part-time: 2–3 days per week, with some flexibility for exceptional full-time candidates
  • Manage a caseload of approximately 15–20 students, depending on assignments
  • School hours: 7:30 AM–3:15 PM (students in-session 8:05 AM–2:45 PM)
