Ideal candidates possess:
- Valid licensure as a School Social Worker in Illinois (Type 73 or Professional Educator License with School Social Worker Endorsement)
- Experience working in educational settings, preferably K-12
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
- The ability to build trust and rapport with students, staff, and parents
- Understanding of IEP processes, behavioral interventions, and social-emotional supports
- Compassion, adaptability, and cultural competence
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting individual and group counseling sessions for students facing academic, behavioral, or social challenges
- Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and families to design and monitor intervention plans
- Providing crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed
- Supporting students with IEPs and participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings
- Connecting families with community resources and services
- Maintaining documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
