An exciting opportunity is available for a School Social Worker to provide essential support in an educational setting near Chicago, IL. This full-time contract position covers a maternity leave for the beginning of the 26/27 school year, with a daily schedule from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm. The assignment runs from August 7, 2026, to October 26, 2026, and involves working closely with a caseload of 40 students.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid licensure as a School Social Worker
- Previous experience working within a school setting preferred
- Strong understanding of IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to creating a supportive and welcoming environment for all students
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct social work services as outlined by students’ IEPs, ensuring all minutes and goals are met
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and educational staff to support the well-being and academic success of students
- Document all interactions and services in accordance with district and legal standards
- Participate in meetings regarding student progress and contribute to the development and review of IEPs
- Help create a safe space for students to discuss challenges and receive guidance during a period of transition
