School Social Worker in Chicago, IL

Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity supporting high school students as a school social worker in a dynamic educational environment near Chicago, IL. The assignment runs from August 10 through September 18, allowing you to utilize your expertise and help students achieve their fullest potential during a pivotal time of year.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM – 3:15 PM, with a 50-minute unpaid lunch each day.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker endorsement
• Previous experience with high school-aged youth, particularly in a school or educational setting
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Passion for advocacy, diversity, and inclusion among student populations
• Ability to manage confidential information and sensitive situations professionally

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and group counseling to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional needs
• Develop and implement intervention strategies in collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families
• Conduct assessments and create plans to support student progress and well-being
• Act as a liaison connecting students and families to relevant resources and community services
• Respond efficiently to crises or urgent concerns as they arise within the school setting
