Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity supporting high school students as a school social worker in a dynamic educational environment near Chicago, IL. This position offers the chance to make a tangible impact while collaborating with faculty, families, and community partners. The assignment runs from August 10 through September 18, allowing you to utilize your expertise and help students achieve their fullest potential during a pivotal time of year.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:45 AM – 3:15 PM, with a 50-minute unpaid lunch each day.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker endorsement
  • Previous experience with high school-aged youth, particularly in a school or educational setting
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Passion for advocacy, diversity, and inclusion among student populations
  • Ability to manage confidential information and sensitive situations professionally

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and group counseling to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional needs
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies in collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families
  • Conduct assessments and create plans to support student progress and well-being
  • Act as a liaison connecting students and families to relevant resources and community services
  • Respond efficiently to crises or urgent concerns as they arise within the school setting
