A school social worker position is available in Chicopee, MA, providing essential support to students from 5th through 9th grades. This role involves addressing the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students to promote a positive and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions with students in grades 5-9.
- Develop and implement intervention plans to address behavioral and emotional challenges.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student well-being.
- Connect students and families with community resources and services.
- Participate in developing and reviewing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and case records in compliance with school policies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent.
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably grades 5-9.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and school staff.
- Knowledge of child development, counseling techniques, and community resources.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
