This full-time contract position as a School Social Worker offers the opportunity to build trusted relationships with K–4 students, providing essential emotional and behavioral support. Based near Scranton, PA, you’ll work alongside teachers, administrators, and families to foster a safe, nurturing atmosphere where every child can thrive.

Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) and current state licensure required
  • Previous experience in a school or youth setting strongly preferred
  • Expertise supporting students with emotional and behavioral challenges
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with diverse groups
  • Adaptable, empathetic, and passionate about student well-being
  • Ability to start as soon as possible and commit through June 2026

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support and counseling to students in grades K–4 in emotional support classrooms
  • Develop and implement individualized strategies and interventions in collaboration with classroom staff
  • Conduct social and emotional assessments, crises intervention, and proactive support
  • Serve as a liaison between school, families, and community agencies to ensure comprehensive care
  • Facilitate small groups and classroom lessons on topics such as social skills, conflict resolution, and self-regulation
  • Participate in IEP meetings and help shape intervention plans
  • Maintain thorough documentation and case notes following professional standards

In this role, you’ll receive compensation of $35–$40 per hour, with the chance to make a long-term impact throughout the NEXT two school years. This position is ideal for those committed to helping young students overcome barriers to learning and experience success.
