This contract opportunity is perfect for a skilled social worker looking to engage with students and educators across a full academic year, including summer programming. The role is based entirely onsite, working directly with students in a collaborative, resource-rich environment focused on their academic and social well-being.

Assignment details:

  • Extended School Year (ESY): 6/30/2026–8/6/2026, up to 25 hours per week
  • Regular School Year (NSY): 8/17/2026–6/11/2027, up to 35 hours per week
  • Candidates must be available for both ESY and NSY assignments to be considered

Desired qualifications:

  • Active Michigan school social worker certification (310) required—please be prepared to provide documentation
  • Experience working in K-12 settings, with exposure to special education highly preferred
  • Ability to cultivate positive relationships with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and advocacy skills
  • If not certified, you must secure appropriate supervision prior to your interview
  • Enthusiasm for working exclusively onsite in an engaging school environment

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct social work services to students, supporting IEP goals and emotional wellness
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to address student needs
  • Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and interdisciplinary planning
  • Document and report on student progress per district guidelines
  • Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive school climate
