Social Worker in Coal Center, PA

Bring your passion for student support to a highly rewarding full-time contract opportunity for licensed Social Workers in a dynamic educational environment. Two positions are available, both onsite, servicing school communities in and around Coal Center, PA. This is your chance to make a direct impact by supporting emotional wellbeing and mental health for K-12 students.

Position 1: Provide crucial emotional support and partial hospitalization programming at a dedicated campus, with an anticipated assignment running from now through June 2027.
Position 2: Step into a long-term substitute role providing social work services at a nearby school district from October 2026 through January 2027 (exact dates to be determined).

Ideal candidates will be able to map out a feasible commute to each school site and are encouraged to indicate their assignment preference.

Desired Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related field
• Current PA State Social Worker License
• PDE Educational Specialist Certification
• School-based social work experience strongly preferred
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Ability to address complex social-emotional and behavioral needs, and to work with multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct social work counseling and intervention services to students
• Support the development and implementation of individualized education and behavior plans
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, families, and outside agencies to support student wellbeing
• Facilitate crisis intervention and referrals to community resources
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive school climate
