A contract Social Worker position is available in Crystal Lake, IL, supporting a day therapeutic program within an elementary school setting. This role is ideal for professionals experienced in school social work, particularly with special education populations such as Emotional Disabilities (ED) and Autism.
Responsibilities:
- Provide social work services to students in three classes: two ED elementary classes and one elementary autism class
- Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to support student social-emotional development and address behavioral needs
- Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings
- Document progress and maintain confidential student records
- Support crisis intervention and facilitate connections to community resources
Qualifications:
- Licensed Social Worker with experience in school settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of therapeutic strategies for students with Emotional Disabilities and Autism
- Ability to manage caseload effectively and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid licensure and qualifications as required by the state of Illinois
Schedule and Term:
- Full-time contract position, Monday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM with a half-hour lunch break
- Immediate start with contract ending May 22, 2026, with potential for renewal for the following school year
