Make a meaningful impact working as a school-based Social Worker in a dynamic day therapeutic program serving elementary students. Located near Crystal Lake, IL, this contract position creates the opportunity to support three classrooms: two designed for students with emotional disabilities (ED) and one focused on autism, in a setting committed to empowering every child.
Your day will run from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM, allowing for a balanced schedule with a dedicated half-hour lunch break. Start as soon as possible and continue through May 22, 2026, with the potential for renewal for the following academic year.

Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure as a School Social Worker (Type 73/Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsement)
- Experience or strong interest in working with elementary-aged children in special education settings
- Demonstrated understanding of emotional disabilities and autism, including behavior management strategies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with students, staff, and families
- Enthusiasm for multidisciplinary teamwork and problem-solving in a school environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide group and individual counseling to students in ED and autism classrooms
- Complete assessments and write reports for IEP meetings
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and administrators to support student social and emotional growth
- Develop and help implement behavioral interventions and support plans
- Serve as a resource for families, offering strategies and community resource connections
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development as needed
