Make a difference supporting students from grades K-12 as a Social Worker/Counselor specializing in Multi-Tier Systems of Support (MTSS). This full-time contract role runs from August 17, 2026, to June 11, 2027, at a reputable school district near Davison, MI. You'll work on-site 35 hours per week, closely collaborating with educators, families, and administrators to promote students’ academic and social-emotional growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) or Counseling from an accredited institution
- Current Michigan licensure as a social worker (LMSW) or counselor (LPC) required; limited licenses (LLMSW/LLPC) considered with the expectation of obtaining full licensure
- MDE School Social Work Approval needed
- Prior experience in a public school or related setting strongly preferred
- Previous involvement with collaborative teams
- Comfortable working onsite and managing K-12 caseloads
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess data collection methods, analyze student information, and recommend intervention strategies for staff and administrators
- Design and implement tiered interventions; consult with teachers; coordinate services for students and families with multiple needs
- Participate actively in MTSS meetings, student support teams, and parent conferences
- Guide staff in research-based, data-driven intervention strategies
- Maintain thorough, accurate student documentation and logs
- Meet regularly with MTSS Supervisor to report on student progress
- Use effective behavior management techniques when providing individual and group interventions
- Support parents in engaging with their child’s educational process and coordinate services for families
