This full-time contract opportunity involves working primarily with 4th and 5th grade students, including a small caseload of approximately 15 special education students within a building of 195 students. Your day will run from 8:35am to 3:30pm, offering a structured schedule while allowing you to connect meaningfully with young learners and support their personal and academic growth.
What You’ll Bring:
- Valid state licensure through LARA
- Approval to work in schools (MDE)
- Prior experience in a school-based social work setting preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of restorative practices and intervention strategies
- Passion for supporting both general education and at-risk populations
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to special education students and at-risk youth in both group and individual settings
- Run small intervention groups and facilitate restorative practices to address behavioral and emotional needs as they arise
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to create tailored support plans
- Conduct routine assessments, provide crisis intervention, and help foster an inclusive, supportive school culture
- Maintain accurate, confidential records compliant with all regulations and school policies
