Social Worker in Des Plaines, IL

You’ll work onsite only, providing direct support for a caseload of approximately 25 elementary students. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with educators for push-in services in special education classrooms, making a significant impact on students who need advocacy and personalized guidance.

Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois School Social Worker (SSW) license
• Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement
• Prior experience working as a School Social Worker in an educational setting
• Passion for supporting and empowering elementary-age students
• Strong collaborative and communication skills
• Ability to provide both individual and group support, adapting services to meet diverse needs

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver counseling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional support to elementary students
• Partner with special education teams to deliver classroom-based interventions
• Help develop, implement, and monitor behavior and intervention plans
• Serve as a resource and advocate for students, families, and faculty, fostering a positive learning environment
• Maintain accurate records and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
• Keep communication open and positive with all stakeholders
