You’ll work onsite only, providing direct support for a caseload of approximately 25 elementary students. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with educators for push-in services in special education classrooms, making a significant impact on students who need advocacy and personalized guidance.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois School Social Worker (SSW) license
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement
- Prior experience working as a School Social Worker in an educational setting
- Passion for supporting and empowering elementary-age students
- Strong collaborative and communication skills
- Ability to provide both individual and group support, adapting services to meet diverse needs
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver counseling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional support to elementary students
- Partner with special education teams to deliver classroom-based interventions
- Help develop, implement, and monitor behavior and intervention plans
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, families, and faculty, fostering a positive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Keep communication open and positive with all stakeholders
