School-Based Social Worker - Detroit, Michigan

Providing essential social work services within educational settings, this role involves supporting students, families, and school staff by addressing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. The position is based onsite in Detroit, MI, with a contract duration spanning the entire school year (NSY).

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to support student well-being.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop strategies addressing student needs.
• Assess and evaluate student needs, coordinating with community resources when necessary.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with all relevant state and local regulations.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to plan interventions and support services.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a School Social Worker (SSW) by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) is required.
• Experience working in educational settings is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage case documentation and maintain confidentiality.
