Key Qualifications:

• Valid School Social Worker (SSW) certification issued by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE)

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct counseling, crisis intervention, and support to students facing social, behavioral, and emotional challenges
• Develop and implement individualized interventions and behavior plans in collaboration with educators and families
• Conduct assessments and gather data to identify student needs and recommend appropriate resources or services
• Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and community agencies to facilitate access to support systems
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review student progress and contribute to Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Offer preventative education and resources for students and staff regarding topics such as bullying, emotional wellness, and social skills
