Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker to join a K-12 school team in Detroit, Michigan. In this role, you will provide essential social-emotional and behavioral support to students while collaborating with educators, administrators, and families to promote student success. Responsibilities
- Provide social-emotional support and counseling services to General Education and Special Education students.
- Serve as the school's 504 Plan Coordinator, ensuring compliance and effective implementation of student accommodations.
- Conduct clinical assessments and develop intervention strategies to address students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
- Implement behavior intervention supports and monitor student progress.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, school psychologists, and families to develop effective student support plans.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to student evaluations and educational planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) required.
- Current Michigan licensure as a Social Worker.
- Experience working with K-12 students in a school setting.
- Strong clinical assessment, counseling, and intervention skills.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary educational team.
