Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid School Social Worker certification or licensure in Michigan
- Previous experience working in K-12 schools (elementary preferred)
- Familiarity with special education processes, including IEP implementation
- Strong assessment, counseling, and intervention skills
- Excellent communication and organization abilities
- Dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive school environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and provide direct support to general and special education students
- Participate in IEP and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) meetings
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop student plans
- Offer crisis intervention, individual/group counseling, and behavioral intervention strategies
- Facilitate programs that promote emotional and social well-being
- Maintain accurate documentation for compliance and reporting purposes
