School Social Worker - East Lansing, MI

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid School Social Worker certification or licensure in Michigan
• Previous experience working in K-12 schools (elementary preferred)
• Familiarity with special education processes, including IEP implementation
• Strong assessment, counseling, and intervention skills
• Excellent communication and organization abilities
• Dedication to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive school environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and provide direct support to general and special education students
• Participate in IEP and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) meetings
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop student plans
• Offer crisis intervention, individual/group counseling, and behavioral intervention strategies
• Facilitate programs that promote emotional and social well-being
• Maintain accurate documentation for compliance and reporting purposes
