Step into a vital role supporting elementary students by providing essential social-emotional services in an engaging school environment. This part-time contract position allows for autonomy and flexibility, with the opportunity to craft your own work schedule over three days per week between 8:00am and 4:30pm. The placement is onsite and runs from August 19, 2026 through May 18, 2027.
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work
- Active Minnesota Board of Social Work Licensure (MSW, LISW, LICSW, or LGSW)
- Minnesota Board of Teaching License
- At least three years of prior experience working with children and families in a school setting
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, student-focused approach
Key responsibilities:
- Manage a dedicated caseload of special education students, providing direct clinical services and interventions as prescribed in each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
- Deliver regular service minutes and maintain thorough, compliant weekly progress notes
- Collaborate closely with IEP teams to develop, update, and review IEPs and contribute to the Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) processes
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings for students assigned to your caseload
- Conduct Social Work Assessments and help facilitate Special Education Eligibility determinations
