Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field
- Active state licensure to practice as a school social worker
- Previous experience in school-based settings highly preferred
- Strong ability to assess student needs and develop intervention plans
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, staff, and families
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Knowledge of school policies, special education law, and available community resources
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and provide direct social-emotional support to students
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans
- Collaborate closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators to support student success
- Facilitate group or individual counseling sessions and social skills training
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
- Advocate for students’ needs, connecting families with appropriate community services
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and district protocols
