School-Based Social Worker - Elgin, Illinois

An experienced School Social Worker is needed for a contract assignment serving elementary students grades K-5. Located near Elgin, IL, this full-time, onsite position begins as soon as possible and is expected to continue through November 4th, 2026, with the potential to extend.

You will join a dedicated student support services team committed to creating a positive, inclusive learning environment. Your expertise will be valued as you collaborate with faculty, families, and administrators to provide direct support for students' academic, social, and emotional growth.

Qualifications & Background:

• Hold an active Illinois School Social Worker license (SSW) and PEL
• Demonstrated prior experience as a School Social Worker within elementary school settings
• Exceptional communication skills and cultural competence
• Ability to manage a full-time, onsite schedule (8:00am to 3:35pm)
• Strong skills in assessment, crisis intervention, and collaborative problem-solving

Responsibilities:

• Deliver social-emotional support and counseling to K-5 students
• Consult and collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families
• Develop and implement IEP and 504 plans as needed
• Provide timely crisis intervention and conflict resolution services
• Conduct individual and group interventions and contribute to school-wide initiatives
• Document all activities and maintain accurate records in accordance with school policies
