Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work from an accredited program
  • Current state certification or licensure in school social work

  • Familiarity with IEP processes and special education services
  • Organized, compassionate, and able to handle sensitive situations with discretion

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to identify student needs, strengths, and barriers to learning
  • Provide individual and group counseling to support students’ social-emotional development
  • Collaborate with school staff in the development and implementation of interventions and support plans
  • Liaise between school, families, and outside agencies to connect students with necessary resources
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams, including IEP meetings and crisis intervention
  • Document case notes, progress, and recommendations in accordance with regulatory standards
