Help support students and their families as a contract school social worker during a key leave period from November through February. This opportunity is situated near Farmington, MI and covers both Apollo Early Childhood Center (supporting our youngest learners, including GSRP students and those needing additional resources) and Country Oaks Elementary School.

This assignment covers a maternity leave, with the primary social worker splitting time 0.6 FTE at Apollo and 0.4 FTE at Country Oaks. There is also potential for additional openings due to an upcoming medical leave, making this a unique chance for early career engagement or for experienced professionals seeking flexible contract work.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid School Social Worker license or eligibility in the state of Michigan
  • Experience with early childhood education settings and elementary-aged students preferred
  • Strong understanding of GSRP programming, 1755 student supports, and educational advocacy
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families
  • Demonstrated ability to manage caseloads spanning multiple school environments
  • Adaptable, proactive, and supportive approach to student and staff needs

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct counseling and intervention services to students
  • Develop, implement, and monitor intervention plans for students with 1755 supports
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support GSRP and elementary level students
  • Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of services and outcomes
  • Serve as a liaison between school, families, and community agencies
  • Advocate for the well-being and educational progress of all assigned students
