In this contract opportunity near Fenton, MI, your expertise as a School Social Worker will empower students from kindergarten to fifth grade, helping them navigate academic and personal challenges so they can thrive.
This role offers a dedicated caseload of 30-40 general education and special education students in a single school. You’ll collaborate closely with staff and families to create a positive school climate, working two to three full days per week from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Please note that this is an onsite position and is not open to hybrid or teletherapy arrangements.
Qualifications:
- Current, valid School Social Worker endorsement and full certification required
- Prior experience working in K-5 educational settings preferred
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Deep commitment to supporting students’ social-emotional well-being
- Ability to manage a caseload of general and special education students effectively
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counseling to students
- Develop and implement interventions to enhance students’ social, emotional, and academic growth
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Conduct assessments and contribute to IEP and 504 plans as needed
- Serve as a key resource for crisis intervention and behavior management
