Social Worker in Flint, MI

Play a vital role in supporting the social and emotional development of elementary students by joining this contract opportunity for a School Social Worker. Situated in an engaging educational environment near Flint, MI, you'll work directly with K-5 students and be part of a dedicated school community.

You'll serve a manageable caseload of 30-40 students in either general education or special education settings, all within one school campus. With a schedule of 2-3 days per week from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, you'll find a healthy balance while making a real difference in students’ lives.

Qualifications:

• Fully certified with a School Social Work endorsement (required)
• Previous experience working with elementary-aged children
• Ability to identify and support social, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Proven collaboration skills with teachers, parents, and external agencies
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and indirect social work services to K-5 students, focused on enhancing school adjustment and academic progress
• Conduct individual and group counseling to address emotional and behavioral challenges
• Develop and implement intervention strategies tailored to student needs
• Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to create supportive educational plans
• Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation of services
• Serve as a resource for crisis intervention and prevention services

This position is onsite, providing you the opportunity to build authentic relationships and offer hands-on support. Hybrid or teletherapy options are not available, ensuring your full presence within the school’s daily life.
