Step into a vital role supporting student success as a Multi-Tier Systems of Support (MTSS) Social Worker/Counselor for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity encompasses 35 hours per week, serving a diverse K-12 caseload within a public school setting. The ideal candidate will excel at collaboration and thrive in onsite environments, engaging closely with students, staff, and families across general education classrooms.
What You’ll Bring:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) or Counseling from an accredited institution
- Current valid LMSW or LPC licensure in Michigan (LLMSW/LLPC will be considered if working towards full licensure)
- Prior experience in public schools or related agencies delivering social work/counseling services
- Familiarity with collaborative teams and experience developing and implementing interventions
- Comfort working with students across all grade levels (K-12)
- Required: Official university transcripts, LARA license, and MDE SW Approval
Your Role Will Include:
- Assessing and recommending data collection and intervention strategies for staff and building administrators
- Designing, implementing, and tracking tiered interventions to support student success
- Collaborating with educators, administrators, parents/guardians, and support teams in MTSS/student support meetings
- Delivering individual and group counseling and intervention services
- Providing data-driven, research-based strategies to staff members
- Maintaining thorough, current records and documentation for assigned caseload
- Assisting families in engaging proactively with their child’s education
