School Social Worker - Glen Burnie, MD

Step into a meaningful opportunity supporting students and school communities as a School Social Worker for the 2026/2027 academic year. This contract position offers flexibility—choose from full-time or part-time roles, working 7-hour days, onsite within a collaborative educational setting. With placements beginning as soon as possible and continuing through June 16, 2027, you'll play a vital role in student development and well-being.

You'll be assigned caseloads based on the dynamic needs and unique context of the school or program. Current openings include several part-time positions and a full-time, long-term substitute assignment running approximately mid-October through mid-April. The educational leadership team is eager to connect with dedicated professionals ready to make a difference and is scheduling interviews right away.

Key qualifications:

• Valid School Social Worker certification or eligibility
• Experience working as a Social Worker within school environments
• Knowledge of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), counseling, crisis intervention, and family engagement
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and families
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility and sensitivity to the needs of diverse student populations

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to students in social, emotional, and behavioral areas
• Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans tailored to students’ needs
• Contribute to the IEP process and participate in meetings as needed
• Deliver counseling services and facilitate group sessions
• Serve as a liaison between school, families, and community resources
• Support district-wide initiatives to promote a positive and inclusive school climate
