Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct counseling services to general education students, enhancing social and emotional outcomes.
• Lead individual and small group sessions focused on students’ needs and development.
• Collaborate with educators to implement school-wide positive behavior programs.
• Support classrooms and buildings as needed, contributing to professional learning for staff and fostering a culture of well-being.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff to ensure continuity of care and support.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree is mandatory—bachelor’s degrees will not be considered.
• Active Michigan LARA license, or eligibility per LARA requirements for counseling roles (see Michigan.gov/lara for details).
• One of the following licenses or credentials:
  • Licensed master’s level social worker or school social worker.
  • Licensed/master’s level psychologist.
  • Limited licensed, under supervision, as above.
  • Licensed master’s level professional counselor or marriage and family therapist.
  • School Counselor License (SCL), Michigan Teaching Certificate with School Counselor endorsement (NT), or Preliminary/Temporary School Counselor license (must complete LPC/LLPC requirements within 24 months).
• Strong background in providing direct counseling and behavioral supports in educational settings.
