Make a meaningful impact supporting elementary students as a contract Social Worker this school year. Covering a maternity leave from early November through the end of December 2026, you’ll work with young learners across two elementary schools. Your skill as a school-based social worker will help foster a caring, supportive environment for students and their families.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
- Valid social work licensure for Michigan public schools
- Previous experience providing counseling and case management in school settings
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and staff
- Experience working with elementary caseloads preferred
Responsibilities:
- Deliver social-emotional support and counseling to elementary students, both individually and in group settings
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs and develop intervention strategies
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student well-being and academic success
- Assist with crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed
- Provide referrals to community resources for students and families
- Document services, maintain case files, and comply with all district and state requirements
