Make a meaningful difference in the lives of elementary school students as a contracted Social Worker in a supportive educational setting. This full-time position focuses on working with 4th and 5th-grade students, including a dedicated caseload of approximately 15 special education students, within a school of about 195 students. Your expertise will support both special education and general education populations, helping at-risk students through targeted interventions and group facilitation.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active state license through LARA and school approval from the MDE required
  • Social Worker experience in school environments preferred
  • Strong background in supporting special education populations
  • Competence in restorative practices and leading small group interventions
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other school professionals and families

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide social work services to special education and general education students, focusing on those identified as at-risk
  • Develop and implement targeted interventions to address students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Run small intervention groups and facilitate restorative practice sessions as assigned
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Maintain accurate case records and required documentation in compliance with state and school policies
  • Participate in building-level meetings, professional development, and multidisciplinary team conferences

This role offers a consistent weekday schedule from 8:35 AM to 3:30 PM, allowing for work-life balance and daily opportunities to make a direct impact on student well-being and success.
