Social Worker | Highland, Michigan

An exciting contract opportunity is available for a dedicated School Social Worker to provide support during a maternity leave from the end of November through February. This assignment entails working with early learners and elementary-aged students across two school settings. You’ll split your time between 0.6 FTE at an early childhood center, assisting GSRP (Great Start Readiness Program) children and those with additional support needs, and 0.4 FTE at an elementary school with a focus on general student support. Additional openings may arise for an earlier medical leave, so candidates with immediate availability are encouraged to apply as well.

Key Qualifications:

• Current licensure or certification as a School Social Worker
• Proven experience supporting early childhood and elementary student populations
• Comfortable managing diverse caseloads and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication abilities for engaging with students, staff, and families
• Familiarity working within educational settings and supporting students with special needs, including those identified under 1755 supports

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct social work services to address students’ academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
• Support students in both group and individual settings to foster positive school adjustment
• Develop and implement strategies to promote student well-being and engagement
• Collaborate with educators, administrators, and families to create solution-focused interventions
• Document services and maintain timely, accurate records in accordance with district guidelines
