School-Based Social Worker | Ionia, Michigan

Step into an impactful role supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional development across two elementary schools and a preschool classroom. This contract opportunity offers a chance to work onsite with a diverse caseload of approximately 40 students, making a significant difference in their everyday school experience. The assignment runs from late August 2026 through mid-May 2027, offering a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours each week.

Key Qualifications:

• Michigan Department of Education approval as a School Social Worker
• Previous experience in school-based social work, particularly within elementary and preschool environments, is preferred
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to adapt strategies for diverse student needs and backgrounds
• Passion for creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver social work services onsite to promote student growth, engagement, and well-being
• Conduct assessments and create tailored intervention plans for individual students and groups
• Collaborate with educational staff to support behavioral, social-emotional, and academic interventions
• Provide resources and guidance to families, helping to bridge home and school environments
• Participate in meetings, contribute to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and maintain accurate documentation
