School Social Worker in Irwin, PA

Make a difference supporting students’ social, emotional, and academic success as a school social worker in a dynamic educational setting! Full-time contract positions are currently available in two locations, offering a unique opportunity to grow your clinical skills while making a positive impact on young lives.

Available assignments include:

• Emotional support and partial hospitalization programs (McMurray area, beginning as soon as possible through June 2, 2027; dates may be subject to change).
• Long-term substitute assignment in a K-12 district (Coal Center area, from October 2026 through end of January 2027; exact dates TBD).

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct individual and group counseling Students with emotional, behavioral, or family-related challenges
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and administrators to develop intervention plans
• Conduct risk assessments and participate in crisis response protocols
• Serve as a liaison with outside agencies and support services
• Maintain accurate case notes, documentation, and required reports
• Contribute to the development of comprehensive support programs addressing student needs

Required qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field
• Active Pennsylvania State Social Work License
• PDE Educational Specialist certification (or willingness to obtain an emergency certificate with support from the district)
• Experience supporting children and adolescents in educational settings
• Excellent communication skills, empathy, and cultural competence

These positions are fully onsite and offer the chance to engage in meaningful work supporting student well-being. Each assignment is full-time (35 hours/week) and best suited for professionals dedicated to collaborative, creative problem solving with school-based teams.
