Make a meaningful impact supporting students through vital school-based social work services. Two contract opportunities are available in the Irwin, PA area for dedicated and compassionate social workers looking for their next challenge. Both roles are full-time (35 hours per week), serving unique student populations in established school programs.
One position supports emotional support programs and the partial hospitalization program at a highly regarded campus in McMurray. This opportunity begins as soon as possible and is projected to continue through June 2027, subject to program needs.
The second role is a long-term substitute social worker placement at a district in Coal Center. This position will run from October 2026 through the end of January 2027, with exact dates to be determined.
Ideal candidates bring strong assessment, counseling, and advocacy skills to school settings. The following qualifications are required:
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work or related field
- Active Pennsylvania State License
- PDE Educational Specialist certification (or willingness to obtain an emergency certificate if not currently held)
- Prior experience in school-based social work or similar settings preferred
- Ability to provide comprehensive support to students in emotional support and/or behavioral health programs
- Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group counseling for students in assigned programs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and monitor student support plans
- Facilitate family and caregiver engagement as appropriate
- Contribute to program planning and crisis intervention services
- Maintain required records and compliance with school and state policies
