School Social Worker in Jackson, MI

The role involves district-wide coverage, traveling between school sites that are conveniently located within a mile of each other.

Desired Qualifications:

• Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
• Valid state licensure/certification for school social work
• Previous experience working with PreK-12 students preferred, especially in both General Education and Special Education environments
• Strong communication and advocacy skills when working with students, families, and educational teams
• Ability to travel between multiple sites within a district as part of your daily responsibilities
• Comfortable managing diverse caseloads and providing multi-tiered support

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver evidence-based social work services to a varied caseload of general education and special education students
• Consult with teachers, administrators, and families to develop and implement strategies supporting students’ social, emotional, and academic growth
• Participate in IEP and other multidisciplinary meetings, contributing valuable insights for intervention planning
• Address students’ social-emotional needs through individual and group sessions, crisis intervention, and referral coordination as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and case notes in compliance with district and legal standards
• Help foster a positive, inclusive, and safe school environment across all assigned locations
