School-Based Social Worker - Joliet, Illinois

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program
• Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a School Social Worker
• Previous experience working in a school setting is highly valued
• Strong understanding of child development, crisis intervention, and special education processes
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage with students from diverse backgrounds

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and indirect services to students and families to support social, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and deliver counseling individually or in groups
• Serve as an advocate for students, helping navigate school resources and community services
• Partner with teachers and staff to implement strategies that foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
• Contribute to the development and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Section 504 Plans
• Participate in crisis response and prevention initiatives within the school community
