School-Based Social Worker - Joliet, Illinois

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students’ well-being as a School Social Worker during the upcoming 26/27 school year! This full-time role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by covering a maternity leave and ensuring continuity of critical services for students.

You’ll work a convenient daytime schedule—8:00 am to 2:30 pm—with a caseload of around 40 students. The assignment runs from August 7, 2026, through October 26, 2026. Your mission: provide IEP-mandated social work minutes, help students thrive emotionally and academically, and foster positive school connections during this key period.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid licensure as a School Social Worker in the state of Illinois
• Previous experience in a school setting and working with IEPs
• Strong understanding of student advocacy, counseling, and crisis intervention
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
• Ability to manage sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and supporting diverse learner needs

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver direct social work services to students per their IEP requirements
• Document session notes and maintain organized records
• Collaborate with educators and school teams to support student progress
• Provide guidance on social, emotional, and behavioral issues
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student support plans
• Offer crisis intervention as needed and serve as a resource for families
