School-Based Social Worker - Joliet, Illinois

A district near Joliet, IL is seeking a dedicated School Social Worker to provide support for a maternity leave during the 26/27 school year. This full-time contract role is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of students and collaborate with a dynamic educational team.

Position Overview:

• Assignment runs from August 7, 2026, to October 26, 2026
• Full-time hours: 8:00 am – 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday
• Caseload of approximately 40 students

What You’ll Need:

• Experience as a School Social Worker in educational settings
• Knowledge of best practices for supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral growth
• Current state certification/licensure as a School Social Worker
• Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, staff, and families
• Ability to interpret and implement IEP requirements

Responsibilities:

• Provide social work services to meet students’ IEP minutes
• Engage with students individually and in small groups as outlined in their educational plans
• Document services and maintain accurate records in compliance with IEP and district requirements
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure students receive cohesive support
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to developing effective student goals and interventions
