School Social Worker - Joliet, IL

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting individual and group counseling sessions to address the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students
• Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop strategies that promote student success
• Participating in the creation and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
• Providing crisis intervention and connecting students with community resources as necessary
• Documenting case notes, progress updates, and maintaining accurate records in compliance with school and district policies
• Assisting with the development of positive school culture and supportive environments for all students
• Leading or assisting with parent workshops and professional development for staff on mental health topics

Desired qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
• Illinois professional license as a School Social Worker (PEL: School Social Worker endorsement)
• Previous experience in a school-based setting is highly valued
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational abilities with attention to confidentiality and professional ethics
• Proficiency in crisis intervention and culturally responsive practices
