Step into a meaningful, full-time contract opportunity supporting 8th grade students as a school social worker for a maternity leave coverage from August 17th to November 27th. With a manageable caseload of 20-25 students drawn from both general and special education, you’ll make a real difference guiding learners through an important transition year.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active, state-appropriate licensure or certification as a School Social Worker
  • Previous experience in school-based settings preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Expertise in providing support and advocacy for students with varied academic, behavioral, and emotional needs
  • Proficiency developing and documenting individualized student plans

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct social-emotional support and crisis intervention for 8th graders
  • Conduct assessments and maintain thorough records for each student on your caseload
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote student success
  • Develop and implement individual and group counseling sessions
  • Support both general and special education students, advocating for their well-being
  • Serve as a resource for staff regarding student behavior and adjustment issues
  • Provide referrals and act as a liaison to outside community services as needed
