School Social Worker in Kenner, LA

This full-time, contract position specializes in pupil appraisal—your expertise will help determine student eligibility for Special Education services within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. You’ll engage in comprehensive evaluations, re-evaluations, and testing, supporting students across 2-3 campuses throughout the school year.

In this role, you’ll work closely with School Psychologists and Educational Diagnosticians, contributing critical insights at SBLC/ABIT meetings and taking the lead on monitoring interventions and coordinating assessment processes. Familiarity with Bulletin 1508 is a must, as you help ensure students receive the services and interventions they need. This role is itinerant, providing variety and the chance to impact multiple school communities.

Qualifications:

• Active Louisiana DOE Certification and Professional License required
• Previous experience in school settings, particularly with pupil appraisal/special education eligibility
• In-depth understanding of Bulletin 1508
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and assessment skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educational teams and families
• Completion of fingerprint-based background check and drug screening needed

Responsibilities:

• Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations for Special Education eligibility
