Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree—required (bachelor’s degrees will not be considered)
- LARA license or equivalent as outlined by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA)
- Eligible backgrounds may include: licensed master’s-level psychologist, master’s-level school psychologist (MDE credentialed or limited licensed), master’s-level social worker (licensed or limited licensed), master’s-level marriage and family therapist, master’s-level professional counselor (licensed or limited licensed), or qualified school counselor (SCL, NT endorsement, PSCC, TSCL—additional requirements may apply)
- Demonstrated experience working with children in a school environment
- Deep understanding of social-emotional learning and evidence-based intervention strategies
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct social-emotional support—individually and in groups—to general education students
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to implement positive behavioral interventions and supports
- Deliver professional learning and guidance to build staff capacity around student mental health
- Adapt approaches to support the needs of diverse learners and classrooms
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold confidentiality standards
