Make a meaningful impact supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth in a rewarding contract position onsite near Lowell, MI. In this role, you’ll provide professional school social work services across two elementary schools and a preschool classroom, working closely with a caseload of approximately 40 students. Operating within a supportive educational environment, you’ll have the opportunity to foster positive change for children and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to student success.
Key Qualifications:
- Current approval from the Michigan Department of Education as a School Social Worker
- Previous experience providing social work services in school settings is highly desirable
- Strong communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to develop and implement intervention strategies to meet students’ academic, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Comfort working onsite and engaging with students, staff, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct individual and group social work services to students in elementary and preschool classrooms
- Assess student needs, develop goals, and design interventions to promote their academic and personal development
- Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, families, and outside agencies to ensure a comprehensive approach to student support
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, contribute to IEPs, and provide crisis intervention as needed
- Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in compliance with school and state standards
This is a full-time contract role, 37.5 hours per week, aligned with the school academic calendar from late August 2026 through mid-May 2027.
