School Social Worker in Mason, MI

Exciting opportunity for an experienced School Social Worker to support K-12 students in a dynamic educational environment. This full-time contract position begins as soon as possible and continues through June 2027. Located near Mason, MI, you’ll collaborate with school staff to help shape positive educational experiences, assist with evaluations, and provide vital social-emotional support to students. The role involves active participation in IEP meetings and crisis response when needed.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan School Social Worker Certification required
• Possession of a current Michigan Social Worker license (LLMSW, LMSW, or LCSW)
• Previous experience working with children in a school setting preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
• Knowledge of educational procedures, IEP processes, and student assessments

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and indirect social work services to K-12 students
• Assist with student evaluations to identify social, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Attend and contribute meaningfully to IEP meetings
• Serve as a member of the crisis response team as needed, providing support during student emergencies
• Partner with faculty, staff, and families to develop appropriate interventions
• Maintain comprehensive documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines
