Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a day therapeutic setting. This role focuses on providing social work services across three dedicated classrooms—two serving elementary-aged students with emotional disabilities (ED), and one supporting students on the autism spectrum. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contributing to a nurturing and safe school environment.
The position runs from now through May 22, 2026, with the potential for renewal in the following school year. The workday is 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM, with a half-hour lunch break, offering a consistent weekday schedule.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a School Social Worker
- Experience serving children with emotional disabilities and/or autism preferred
- Strong background using trauma-informed and evidence-based interventions
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to helping every child reach their potential
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct social-emotional assessments and participate in eligibility and IEP meetings
- Provide individual and group counseling to address student needs
- Support classroom teams with behavior intervention planning and implementation
- Develop and model strategies for positive social skills and coping mechanisms
- Engage families as partners in their child’s success
- Maintain accurate records and timely communication with stakeholders
- Provide crisis intervention and collaborate on prevention strategies
