Support elementary students and make a meaningful impact in a day therapeutic program as a school social worker. This contract opportunity involves working with three specialized classes—two for students with emotional disabilities (ED) and one for students with autism. You'll be part of a dedicated team committed to helping children build self-regulation, social, and coping skills in a supportive and enriching atmosphere.
Your day will run from 8:15 am to 3:15 pm, with a half-hour lunch, providing a structured yet flexible workday perfect for those who value work-life balance. The contract runs through May 22, 2026, with the possibility of renewal for the following school year.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure/certification for School Social Work
- Experience in school settings is highly preferred
- Familiarity with elementary age emotional disabilities and autism spectrum disorders
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Compassion, adaptability, and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct social work services to students in ED and autism-focused elementary classrooms
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student support plans
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and allied professionals to create positive learning environments
- Provide crisis intervention and ongoing counseling
- Document progress, maintain records, and prepare reports as required
- Advocate for student needs and promote social-emotional growth
