School-Based Social Worker | Mckeesport, Pennsylvania

Step into a rewarding role supporting students and families in an educational setting as a contracted full-time Social Worker. We are seeking professionals with a passion for school-based practice and a commitment to positive outcomes for K-12 learners. There are two exciting opportunities available—one onsite position serving students in emotional support and partial hospitalization programs, and one long-term substitute opening at a local school. Assignments range from immediate start through June 2027, or October 2026 to January 2027.

Desired Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field
• Pennsylvania State License
• PDE Educational Specialist Certification (if not held, eligibility for emergency certificate is acceptable)
• Demonstrated experience working with children or adolescents in educational or clinical settings
• Strong communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility, professional judgment, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Proactive in mapping commute options to the assigned school location(s)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct counseling, crisis intervention, and case management to students
• Partner with educators, caregivers, and external agencies to coordinate supports
• Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized education and behavioral plans
• Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and document interventions
• Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment for students facing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges
• Adapt to changing needs within school programs and assignments
