School-Based Social Worker - Minneapolis, Minnesota

This contract opportunity, set in a vibrant elementary school near Minneapolis, MN, runs from 8/31/26 to 12/22/26, with a consistent schedule Wednesday through Friday. Your expertise will provide vital support to children as they navigate academic and social growth.

Qualifications & Desired Background:

• Active social work licensure, with credentials suitable for work in both educational and healthcare settings
• Professional experience as a social worker in schools or pediatric environments strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of child development, crisis intervention, and behavioral strategies
• Compassionate communicator who excels at building trust with children, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Adept at documentation, maintaining confidentiality, and following school protocols

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct support and counseling services to students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and external agencies to develop student success plans
• Conduct assessments, participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, and contribute to IEP/504 processes
• Advocate for students’ diverse needs through tailored interventions and resource referrals
• Facilitate small groups or class sessions on social skills, conflict resolution, or mental health awareness
