School Social Worker - Mokena, IL

Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting young learners in a vibrant Pre-K to Kindergarten setting. This role involves serving as a School Social Worker, stepping in to cover a leave starting as soon as possible and extending through early February. Working full-time (Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:45 pm), you will play a vital part in helping students build the social-emotional foundations crucial for their academic and personal success.

Requirements for this position include:

• Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Social Worker endorsement
• Background or experience as a Social Worker within school settings
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with young students, families, and faculty
• Ability to provide counseling services to individuals and small groups
• Proactive approach to developing and implementing behavioral and support plans
• Experience with documenting services and communicating with staff on student progress
• Readiness to adapt quickly and take initiative in a fast-paced school environment

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver direct social-emotional and behavioral support to Pre-K and Kindergarten students
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education teams to address student needs
• Facilitate communication between home and school to promote student well-being
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide input for interventions and accommodations
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with school guidelines
