School Social Worker - Muskegon, MI

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program
• Valid licensure as a School Social Worker in Michigan or eligibility to obtain
• Previous experience providing social work services in a school setting is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple caseloads
• Commitment to diversity, inclusion, and culturally responsive practices

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct counseling and support services to students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
• Partner with teachers, families, and administration to develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) and interventions
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
• Offer crisis intervention and assist with conflict resolution among students as needed
• Facilitate small group sessions and classroom presentations on social skills, coping strategies, and mental health awareness
• Maintain thorough documentation in accordance with school and state requirements
• Serve as a liaison between the school, community resources, and outside agencies to ensure holistic support for students and families
