School Social Worker in Naperville, IL

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a school social worker endorsement
• Prior experience as a school social worker (this role cannot be filled by a school counselor)
• Familiarity with special education, preferably working within communication development or similar programs
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively support students, families, and school staff
• Ability to travel between two school locations, if needed
• Passion for helping students overcome social and emotional barriers to learning

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide social-emotional support and intervention to students in the communication development program
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized strategies
• Conduct assessments, write reports, and participate in IEP meetings as required
• Support classrooms and attend to the unique needs of a caseload of less than 30 students
• Offer crisis intervention, coping skills training, and advocacy for students
• Maintain accurate records and data in compliance with school and district policies
