Make a meaningful impact supporting elementary students as a dedicated school social worker in a contract position that offers a fulfilling and collaborative environment. Your expertise will be a key resource for students and staff, starting as soon as possible and continuing through October 2nd, 2026.
This role focuses on working with approximately 25 elementary students and includes providing both individualized support and push-in services within special education classrooms. You'll partner with educators and families to help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois School Social Worker (SSW) license and PEL with School Social Worker endorsement
- Previous experience working in a school setting is required
- Strong collaborative and communication skills with students, families, and staff
- Compassionate, adaptive approach to supporting diverse student needs
- Ability to provide both direct and indirect services related to social-emotional learning
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted support for identified students through counseling, crisis intervention, and skill-building
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education teams, and related service personnel
- Conduct assessments and develop intervention plans addressing both social and behavioral needs
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings where applicable
- Serve as a resource to families, connecting them with school and community services
This is a full-time, onsite-only position, allowing you to build in-person relationships and directly impact student well-being and success.
