School-Based Social Worker | Naperville, Illinois

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in social work (MSW) from an accredited program
• Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a school social worker
• Previous experience working with children or adolescents preferred
• Strong knowledge of crisis intervention, counseling techniques, and community resources
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
• Ability to build rapport and trust with students, families, and school staff
• Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and 504 plans a plus

Responsibilities:

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to support student well-being
• Assess student needs, create intervention plans, and monitor progress
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other professionals to develop effective support strategies
• Serve as a resource for school staff regarding behavioral and mental health concerns
• Coordinate with outside agencies or community services when needed
• Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of services provided
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team decisions
